The universe is created by a bang from a singularity with infinite density and helium,dark matter and dark energy were the products of this explosion.
Further helium due decay became hydrogen from which stars and other gas clouds,giants,nebulas formed.
It is estimated that universe is 13.8 billion years old and we only know events that happened 10-¹³ secs after creation of universe.(thanks to cosmic micro wave background radiation)
As of the current theories,there must be some force or reaction taking place to cause a bang,Scientist have come to a conclusion that a unified force(strong,weak, electromagnetic,gravity) existed which caused the bang.
Your question cannot be answered as of now but I am sure that you can call that unified force "God".
