Alpha Centauri is the part of the southern constellation of Centaurus in which it is the brightest star and also the third brightest star in the night sky. It is about 4.37 light years away from the Sun which makes it the closest star system to our sun. The Alpha Centauri might also contain an earth-sized planet orbiting it which makes it the closest star system containing an exoplanet.
